The material in this book covers triplets, grace notes, minor scales, using the sustaining pedal, semiquavers, trickier syncopations, more Italian terms and metronome marks.

To widen the variety of styles established in Book 1, I have chosen pieces by Bch, Handel, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Nielsen and Scott Joplin. I've also included some of my own compositions using twentieth-century techniques, more folk tune arrangements and pieces based on the blues.

There are also suggestions of pieces from the Next Step Piano Allosorts Collection which can be played alongside the pieces in this book, as they are of similar style and standard
